Peter Pan Pop-Up Cake Book

This cake was created for a little girl's 4th birthday. I worked on the details for this cake for a week. The idea for the cake was a pop-up story book. We started with an open book that had the map of Never Never Land painted on it.

Some of the locations on the map were illustrated with pop-up characters such as Indian Camp, Mermaid Cove and Skull Island. The children's nursery with Peter Pan's shadow and Nana barking as the kids flew off with Peter were all pop-ups. The pirate ship was made from rice cereal treats and captain hook, Smeed, and the alligator were all 2 dimensional gumpaste cutouts.
